SENATOR TRUNZO INTRODUCES LEGISLATION TO PROVIDE TAX CREDITS FOR REPLACEMENT OF HOME HEATING SYSTEMS

State Senator Caesar Trunzo (R-Brentwood) introduced legislation (S.8744) that provides a tax credit for the installation of Energy Star labeled home heating systems.

“Many home heating systems are financially inefficient, outdated, and cause multiple environmental problems,” said Senator Trunzo.  “Due to the cost of installing new home heating systems, people often wait as long as possible to replace these systems, but this bill would make it financially viable and allow individuals to replace home heating systems with a more energy efficient system.”

Under the legislation, taxpayers would receive up to a $500 tax credit if they replace their existing home heating system with an Energy Star labeled home heating system.
